French Victorian Dove Mirror Trinket Tufted Silk Glass Box (Maroon Red)

A wonderful French Victorian c.1870-1880, mirror glass top box display that is absolutely captivating!

On the front are a pair of lovely doves mid-flight, joined together by stems and flowers.

The sides are candle/perfume bottle holders, that can be used to put a candle on each side. The middle section is a bevelled glass box, with the interior having a tufted silk lined in maroon red. The box opens and closes with an in-built latch.

This piece makes a fantastic display that would look great on any dressing table.

Note: Some parts of the metal have turned black/greyish in tone, however this adds to its character and age, and does not affect the function of the piece.
