Gold Gilt French Napoleon III Book Locket with Original Photographs

A rare French Napoléon III circa 1870 gold gilt book locket with all 4 original photographs of his family intact. Many of these book lockets are missing their original contents, and this set consists of a family of all original 4 in the locket. It is engraved beautifully, and opens and closes well with the book latch. There is a bail for it to be worn as a pendant, and it is a wonderful and precious piece of history. In wonderful condition.
