Platinum Art Deco Diamond & Sapphire Brooch-Pendant

An outstanding Art Deco c.1920-1930 diamond & sapphire brooch-pendant modelled in platinum.

It is set with super sparkly old transitional-brilliant cut diamonds, approx. 3.90ct by spread, accompanied with step cut sapphires approx. 0.99ct, with a total weight of 4.89ctw.

We have seen some sparkly pieces in our collection, but this Art Deco piece is on another level of sparkly - as it sparkles intensely with just the slightest movement and even in low light conditions. It is truly a marvel!

The piece is decorated with fine milgrain detailing all around, and is a true testatement to Art Deco workmanship. The pendant bail folds down securely, so that the piece can be worn as either a brooch or pendant.

It is a large size, measuring 26mm x 60mm with bail, and 26mm x 48mm without bail. The brooch pin fastens with a rollover safety clasp for added security.

All parts and stones are original to this piece, and it is in excellent condition.

It weighs 9.43 grams.
