18K Swiss Victorian Jeanjaquet Frères Flower Bouquet Guilloche Enamel Pocket Watch with Winding Key

An exceptional Swiss Victorian 1850-1860 guilloche enamel demi-hunter pocket watch, crafted in 18k gold, hallmarked, and signed by Jeanjaquet Frères.

It features double sided guilloche enamel in peach beige enamel, with the front having an enamel flower bouquet of different flowers, and the back with Roman numerals. It is always such a delight to find an antique pocket watch with double sided enamel as they are so rare to come by.

The enamel flower bouquet is one of the most sought after designs in pocket watch collecting, the best often being Swiss made. This watch is no exception, with the flower bouquet being exquisitely hand painted with such fine detailing that the flowers almost appear lifelike. 

The guilloche enamel background gives further dimension to the piece, as it mimics 'rays of light' or sunshin. The high quality translucent guilloche enamel makes it appear as if it were glowing, giving depth and realism to the piece.

Additionally, both sides of the borders of the watch are beautifully and painstakingly decorated with taille d’ epargné black enamel.

The pocket watch is in running and working condition, and comes with its winding key.

There are two holes on the inner case, one hole is to wind up the watch, the other hole is to set the time.

The inside of the watch case is signed with “Jeanjaquet Frères, Neuchatel”, as well as with Swiss hallmarks.

The pocket watch measures 35mm across, and weighs 33.82 grams.

The winding key measures 10mm x 25.8mm height, and weighs 1.42 grams.

The enamel pocket watch is offered in excellent condition and would make an heirloom worthy addition to any antique lover’s collection.
