A gorgeous English Victorian c.1880-1900 double heart ring set with diamonds, sapphire & ruby and modelled in 18k gold, hallmarked.
The double heart is such a romantic motif that symbolises two hearts in a union, often signifying as an engagement ring in the Victorian era. The ring is set with fiery old European cut diamonds approx. 0.35ct by spread, a sapphire and ruby 0.35ct each, with a total weight of 1.05ctw.
It is English in origin and has faint and partially faded hallmarks consisting of a crown and '750' assay mark that was used in England pre 1932, to denote that an item is the crown or gold standard mark. The stones are all present with no missing stones, and they are open-backed to allow light to pass through for a brilliant sparkle.
The ring has a gorgeous hand pierced side gallery which adds to the beauty of the ring. It is an all original antique ring and is not a conversion ring.
It is a US 7 and sizable.
The ring face measures 12mm x 8mm height, and weighs 2.67 grams.
