10K & Silver European Victorian Diamond & Bristol Blue Glass Brooch

An exceptional European Victorian c.1860-1870 bristol blue glass and diamond brooch crafted in 10k gold and silver, set with rose cut diamonds.

The brooch features a bristol blue glass panel with cut out frames set with sparkly rose cut diamonds approx. 0.93ctw by spread. The reverse and sides of the brooch is just as stunning. It is painstakingly hand engraved with a flower basket motif on the reverse - such a nice surprise! Additionally, even the sides of the center of the brooch are engraved with floral and leaf motifs, truly a masterpiece with no details spared.

It opens and closes well and is offered in excellent condition with all stones present. In addition, the bristol blue glass is in good condition with no cracks.

It is hallmarked with a maker's mark on the brooch catch, sourced from Germany and is European in origin.

This would make a wonderful addition for collectors who may have a bristol blue glass pendant or ring, and the brooch would make a beautiful match to complete the set. It can be worn pinned on a shirt collar, on a shawl or even at the edge of a sleeve, or pinned on a velvet ribbon to be worn as a choker necklace or bracelet.

It measures 50mm x 13.8mm height, and weighs 7.11 grams.

Note: Please note that as the diamonds are foiled, it is advisable that the piece does not get wet or exposed to water. It can be gently cleaned by wiping it down with a wrung out damp cloth.
