15K Victorian Ruby & Garnet Sword Jabot Pin

A remarkable Victorian era c.1860-1870 Etruscan revival ruby and garnet sword jabot pin with a sword sheath securing the pin in place, modelled in 15k (15ct) gold.

Exquisite Etruscan revival granulated and filigree beadwork is seen throughout the handles of the sword in great detail. The gold is a bloomed matte finish, which really allows the sword to stand out with its deep golden yellow patina.

The sword is set with garnets, and in the center a ruby. The garnets are approx. 0.70 in weight, and the ruby 0.10, totalling 0.80ctw.

It measures a medium to large 33.1mm x 81.5mm, and weighs 3.78 grams.

This piece is in excellent pristine condition and makes an heirloom worthy collector’s item. It can be dressed up or down, and would look great pinned against a blazer or coat.

Note: To retain the semi-matte finish of bloomed gold pieces, we recommend to polish only the piece lightly. If you have to polish it, please ensure to only use a jewellery polish cloth, and with very light handed motions and only very sparingly.
