18K & Platinum Victorian Diamond & Opal Heart Arrow Brooch

A rare and beautiful Victorian c.1880-1890 heart arrow brooch, set in rose cut diamonds and an opal in the shape of a heart, modelled in 18k gold & platinum.

This is a stunning example of a Victorian arrow brooch, with an opal heart in the middle approx. 2.82ct, and an arrow through it, to denote the sweet message of love "shot through the heart". The heart is further surrounded by a halo of rose cut diamonds approx. 0.65ct by spread.

It is very rare to see the heart set with an opal, this is our first time discovering one after years of collecting. It is a wonderful size at 51mm across and would make a great chain extender for watch chains. If you have a dog clip in your collection, a pendant can also be suspended on it by threading the dog clip through the brooch. (See picture gallery for example)

This is a wonderful collector's piece for arrow motif and opal heart lovers.
