9K & Silver European Victorian Diamond Butterfly Ring

A stunning European Victorian c.1890-1900 butterfly diamond ring modelled in 9k gold and silver.

The butterfly is set with sparkly rose cut diamonds, and an old cut diamond in the middle, approx. 0.59ctw in weight by spread. All stones are present with no missing diamonds.

An incredible symbol of change and renewal, the butterfly was an important and symbolic motif in the Victorian era.

The butterfly is beautifully crafted with expert craftsmanship. The wing tips are slightly lifted to create a life-like appearance, adding realism to the piece. Additionally, the setting of the diamonds are in pinched collet settings on the edges of the butterfly's abdomen, which adds depth to the piece, a small and yet wonderfully detailed touch.

It was a Victorian brooch that has been masterfully converted into a ring with split shank detailing and engraved features on the sides of the ring. It is important to note that the conversion process is entirely hand crafted, including the carved details and band.

It was sourced from Germany and is European in origin. This is a beautiful and wonderful piece offered in excellent condition, and would make a wonderful staple to any jewellery lover’s collection.

The ring face measures 15.5mm x 12.8mm height, and weighs 2.31 grams.

It is a US 6.5 and sizable.
