A stunning Dutch Victorian c.1840-1860, three stand faceted beaded garnet necklace with a fine filigree clasp modelled in 14k gold, hallmarked.

The necklace is exceptionally beautiful with cascading three strand faceted garnets that glistens and sparkles. The first strand measures 15.5", second strand 17" and third strand 18.5" in length including the clasp. It is completed with a fine filigree clasp with granulated beads and a center garnet of approx. 3.43ct. There are approx. 247.52ctw of garnets in total weight.

The clasp measures 15.2mm across, and opens and closes well.

It is hallmarked with the Dutch oak leaf hallmark for 14k gold on the back of the clasp, Dutch in origin and sourced from the Netherlands.

There are various ways to wear this beautiful necklace, with the clasp worn in front, at the back or on the side. It can also be paired with a brooch through the strands. (See picture gallery for examples) The different ways gives very different looks which makes this a very versatile piece.

This is a wonderful necklace offered in excellent condition and an important piece of history with expert Dutch craftsmanship.
