14K European Victorian Enamel Lady Portrait Long Guard Slider Chain 40.5"

A rare and unique Victorian c.1850-1860 enamel lady portrait slider long guard chain, modelled in 14k gold with four tassels.

The stunning long guard chain features an enamel slider of a portrait of a lady, hand painted on porcelain. The lady is seen wearing a blue dress and a matching hat with pink feathers.

The slider has beautiful floral engravings all around, as well as another stylised motif on reverse. It is adorned with two gorgous tassels on each side of the slider with a 55mm drop each, and measures 18.6mm x 21.2mm height.

There are two additional tassels on the end of the chain with a 51.7mm drop each.

It is crafted in 14k gold, sourced from Italy and likely European in origin.

There are multiple ways to wear this chain as it has a slider on it, making it a very versatile and precious piece to have.

This is a wonderful chain offered in excellent condition. It is very rare to come across a long guard chain that features a portrait on it, and it would be a wonderful addition to any antique chain collection.

It measures 40.5" long, and weighs 40.29 grams.
