18K & Silver Georgian/Victorian Diamond Lady Portrait Ring

A beautiful Georgian to early Victorian c.1830-1850 portrait ring, modelled in 18k gold & silver, surrounded by a halo of rose cut diamonds.

The portrait features a stunning lady painted and set behind glass, the reverse is sealed with a mother of pearl backing.

The portrait is surrounded by a stunning laurel wreath diamond set frame, with the further detailed with a bow and torch. This is a powerful symbol in French jewellery, as it represents Honour, Victory, and Liberty.

It was a brooch that has been expertly converted into a ring by master jeweller Gaetano Chiavetta, complete with a custom raised gallery profile that curves to the shape of a finger, so it is absolutely comfortable to wear. It resembles a beautiful picture frame when worn on the finger.

It is absolutely one of a kind! As portrait rings often and rarely do not have a diamond halo around the portrait, this is certainly an endearing and beautiful portrait ring that is worthy to be added to your collection.

The ring face measures 20mm x 25mm height not including halo, and 24mm x 34mm height including the surrounding halo. It weighs 9.21 grams.

It is currently a US 7.5 and sizable.
