18K & Platinum French Victorian/Edwardian Art Nouveau Belle Epoque Diamond Plique A Jour Enamel Pansy Ring

Pansy, from the French “pensée”, which translates to “thoughts”, and in the Victorian Language of Flowers means “thinking of you”.

This Belle Époque French pansy ring is an exceptional example of an all original French Art Nouveau ring, of the language of flowers used in jewellery from the late Victorian to Edwardian period.

It is circa 1900-1910, and crafted in platinum and 18k gold and hallmarked with the French eagle head. Art Nouveau elements can be seen in this ring, with the swirl of the pansy stems with two old European cut diamonds set with rose cut diamond along the band.

This is the first that we've seen of a pansy ring that is in an all original ring form that is not a conversion ring, it is so incredibly precious and certainly a fine collector’s piece.

It is currently a US 5.25 and sizable.

This listing includes a Ring Resize to a US 6.5.

Note: The box shown is for display purposes only and is not included in the listing.

There is a minuscule amount of enamel missing along the edges of the top of the pansy flower, this is not immediately noticeable as it is along the edges and blends in with the background. We have chosen to offer it in its original condition, but we are also able to restore this enamel professionally for you. If you are interested in enamel restoration, please get in touch or leave a note at checkout.
