18K & Silver French Victorian Diamond, Sapphire & Onyx Cameo Pendant

A stunning French Victorian c.1860-1870 onyx cameo featuring a lady's profile, set with diamonds & sapphires and crafted in 18k gold & silver. The cameo is carved from onyx, and has wonderful detailing of the lady's hair, face, and dress.

It is quite rare to see a cameo being set alongside with sapphires, as a large majority of cameos are set with pearls, or pearls/diamonds, and we must say, this piece set with sapphires is truly is a marvelous pairing with the onyx! There are approx. 0.48ct of rose cut diamonds by spread, 1.26ct sapphire, with a total weight 1.74ctw.

The cameo was a brooch but had its pin broken off, and it has been converted masterfully into a wearable pendant.

It measures 27mm x 41mm with bail, 27mm x 35mm without bail, and weighs 11.04 grams.

Note: There is a slight hairline mark on the upper left of the onyx slice, this is not immediately noticeable unless seen from a specific angle, and does not affect the integrity and structure of the piece.
