18K Victorian Diamond, Ruby & Sapphire Floral Crescent Pendant

A stunning Victorian c.1900 crescent with floral and trefoil details modelled in 18k gold, set with diamonds, rubies and sapphire.

The floral crescent is also known as a “honeymoon brooch”. Often given as a love token from a groom to a bride in the Victorian era; the flower represents the sweet nectar and ‘honey’, the crescent for ‘moon’. This is a particularly spectacular example of a late Victorian honeymoon piece.

The crescent was a brooch that has been converted masterfully into a wearable pendant. It was sourced from Germany and is European in origin.

It is absolutely divine, with luscious old brilliant cut diamonds that sparkle intensely, approx. 0.90ct, accompanied with two rubies 0.45ct, and a sapphire 0.30ct, total weight 1.65ctw.

It sparkles intensely and is such a wonderful unique piece.

It measures 26mm across and weighs 6.43 grams.
