14K Dutch Victorian Diamond Star Locket-Brooch

A stunning Dutch Victorian c.1860-1880 star locket-brooch, crafted in 14k gold.

The locket is set with a large center oval rose cut diamond 0.75ct by spread, with further rose cut diamonds as a star motif, with a total weight of approx. 1.30ctw by spread. The center diamond is held up in a beautiful buttercup setting.

It features a fold down bail, that allows it to be worn as either a brooch or a locket. The reverse of the locket can be lifted up to reveal a hidden locket compartment, with its original inner bezel and glass cover.

The brooch catch comes with a covered cap at the end of the brooch pin. This allows the piece to be worn as a pendant without the brooch pin pricking the skin, so that it can be worn comfortably.

It is in excellent condition, with no dents or dings to the locket. It is hallmarked with the Dutch oak leaf hallmark for 14k gold.

Such a locket would make a fantastic addition to any antique collector's collection that can be worn and treasured for generations.

It is a medium to large size and measures 35mm x 51mm with bail, 35mm x 45mm without bail, and weighs 15.43 grams.
