18K & Silver French Victorian Alphonse Auger Diamond Pocket Watch with Bow Brooch

A truly marvellous French Victorian c.1890-1900 diamond pocket watch and bow brooch, crafted in 18k gold and silver, hallmarked, and a signed piece by the master jeweller Alphonse Auger (1837-1904).

The watch comes with its original bow brooch watch pin, set with chunky and sparkly rose cut diamonds approx. 4.36ctw by spread. The watch is covered with diamonds all around, both on the front, the back, and even on pendant of the watch, making it a truly fantastic and special piece!

It is such a wonderful find and we are delighted to offer it as its original set. All diamonds are present with no missing diamonds.

The watch measures 20mm across and weighs 12.09 grams. The bow brooch measures 21.4mm x 19.8mm height, and weighs 4.04 grams. As a set, its total length is 45.5mm height, and it weighs 16.13 grams in total.

It is in running and working condition, and keeps time well. It was recently fully serviced and in excellent condition.

The bow brooch opens and closes well with a trombone clasp for added security. There is a dog clip attached to the brooch, this is original to the brooch. It can be worn on its own, or with the bow brooch. Additionally, a chain can be strung through the bow where it can also be worn as a necklace. (See 360 video in picture gallery for an example)

It is hallmarked with the French eagle head assay mark for 18k gold, and the French boar head for silver, marked on the catch near the trombone clasp, as well as on the brooch pin.

The inside of the watch case is signed with "Auger, Joaillier, place des Victoires, Paris".

This is a wonderful example of antique French craftsmanship of the Victorian era, and would be a valuable addition to any watch enthusiast's collection.
