10K Victorian Diamond Initial K Brooch-Pendant
A spectacular Victorian c.1880-1900 initial "K" brooch-pendant set with old European cut diamonds and crafted in 10k gold, hallmarked.
The brooch-pendant features an intricate design of the initial, set with fiery old European cut diamonds approx. 1.20ctw by spread. The edges of the initial is further detailed with hand-etched engraving in gold to give it realistic detail, further adding to its beauty.
The very special feature about this piece is that the brooch doubles up as both a brooch as well as a pendant, and can also be worn as a slider on a silk ribbon.
The backing allows it to be worn as a pendant straight (loop chain through both stations), or worn tilted at an angle (loop chain through one station).
It is hallmarked with '10K' on the clasp, which is the original safety lever clasp mechanism and provides added security. The brooch pin opens and closes well.
It is incredibly rare to come across an original antique piece in an initial "K", both retaining all of its original components, which also double functions as a pendant. It is a wonderful example of antique craftsmanship of the Victorian era, and would be an excellent heirloom worthy addition to any collection.
It measures 21.3mm x 28.5mm height, and weighs 3.79 grams.
