14K Dutch Victorian Diamond, Sapphire & Ruby Floral Crescent Brooch
An incredible and exquisite Dutch Victorian c.1880-1890 floral crescent brooch crafted in 14k gold and hallmarked.
It is so unique, with a row of sapphires on the inner crescent, with an alluring and sparkly, chunky old mine cut diamond approx. 0.30ct in the center. On the main body of the crescent is a beautiful floral design set with rose cut diamonds and rubies. There are approx. 0.40ct of diamonds by spread, 1.40ct sapphires, and 0.15ct rubies, with a total weight of 1.95ctw.
The brooch is in excellent condition with all original components, and it opens and closes well. It also comes with a lever safety mechanism for extra added security. It is hallmarked with the Dutch oak leaf hallmark for 14k gold on the brooch pin and is an exemplary example of expert antique Dutch craftsmanship.
On the back of the brooch comes a square loop where it can be used as a hidden bail. A dog clip can be attached to it so that the brooch can be worn as a pendant! What a lovely feature! Please see picture gallery for an example.
