14K German Biedermeier Victorian Bohemian Garnet & Pearl Heart Padlock Locket Beaded Necklace

An absolutely breathtaking, German Biedermeier (Victorian era) c.1830-1840 beaded bohemian garnet necklace, suspending a bohemian garnet and pearl locket. The locket is in a heart shape, which has detailed floral repousse detailing and engravings on the handle, and on the back. It opens up and reveals an inner compartment, which is deep enough to house small mementos. The locket measures 15mm x 27mm height with bail, 15mm x 20mm without bail, and the necklace is 16" long.

Note: We have managed to make this work as a padlock again by removing a material that was stuck inside, preventing the handle to be opened as a padlock. As it can now function as a padlock, the piece will be reversed into its original Biedermeier era condition, with the two solder points connecting the beaded necklace to the locket to be removed, and restringing the beaded necklace as a separate piece. In this manner, the padlock-locket can now be used with other chains. Pricing is inclusive of both the padlock-locket & the beaded necklace.
