14K & Silver Dutch Victorian Diamond Navette Ring
A beautiful Dutch Victorian c.1870-1880 diamond navette ring crafted in 14k gold & silver.
The navette is set with chunky rose cut diamonds approx. 1.85ctw by spread. The middle of the navette features two oval shaped rose cut diamonds that is such a unique design! It is reminiscent of 'two peas in a pod' surrounded by numerous sparkly rose cut diamonds. It is closed back and appear to be foiled and is in great condition with no discolouration.
The shank of the ring has additional rose cut diamonds on each sides which gives it additional sparkle, decorated with a pierced gallery and a crimped collet detailing; Such a wonderful detail that wonderfully showcases expert Dutch craftsmanship of the time.
It is hallmarked with the Dutch oak leaf hallmark for 14k gold as well as a maker's mark on the inner band of the ring, sourced from the Netherlands.
The ring face measures 11.5mm x 22.9mm height.
It is a US 5 and sizable and weighs 3.82 grams.
Note: Please note that as the diamonds are foiled, it is advisable that the piece does not get wet or exposed to water. It can be gently cleaned by wiping it down with a wrung out damp cloth.
