14K Swiss Victorian Enamel Portrait Earrings
A beautiful pair of antique Swiss enamel earrings in 14k gold, c.1870-1880. The enamel features a portrait of a young lady wearing a cap and a red dress.
The enamel is in excellent condition with no damage observed. The earring wires are also original to the piece, as the tone of the gold matches perfectly. They are kidney-backed earrings, which means that there is a tension hook on the back which secures the wires in place, so that the earring does not dangle without a security backing.
They can be worn with both ladies facing each other, or facing away from each other. In these pictures they are seen facing away from one another.
An adorable & fine example of Swiss enamel work that is a collectible piece.
