Sold on Layaway | 14K Victorian Diamond & Black Enamel Brooch
An incredible and exquisite Victorian c.1850-1880 diamond and black enamel brooch crafted in 14k gold.
It is a unique design with finely detailed milgrain detailing all around, paired with a taille d'épargne black enamel bordering. The brooch is set with fiery and chunky old mine cut diamonds on a buttercup setting, six on the side approx. 1.20ct, with a center old mine cut diamond 1.17ct, with a total weight of 2.37ctw by spread. The diamonds are L-M in colour, VS clarity.
The brooch is in excellent condition with all original components, and it opens and closes well. It also comes with a lever safety mechanism for extra added security.
On the back of the brooch comes a hook where it can be used as either a watch pin, by hanging a pocket watch on the base, or it can be used as a pendant by hooking a dog clip on the back hook.
It is a wonderful and versatile piece, with all original components offered and is in excellent condition. The black enamel is all intact with no wear.
It measures 28.7mm x 26.5mm height, and weighs 11.89 grams.
