14K Victorian Diamond & Onyx Signet Initial S Ring

A wonderful Victorian c.1890 signet ring, with the initial "S" crafted in 14k gold.

The "S" is set with tiny little rose cut diamonds approx. 0.35ctw by spread, on an onyx in a rectangular shape. The sides are beautiful strong shoulders, wonderfully complementing the bold and large shape of the signet ring.

The shoulders are a wonderful feature of the ring, resembling dragon scales.

It is hallmarked 14k on the inner band and is a US 8 and sizable. It is an original ring and not a conversion.

The ring face measures 13mm x 17mm, and weighs 8.57 grams.

Note: There are very light surface marks/some wear to the corners of the onyx plate appropriate to its age. Although these are at the corners, and with the onyx being black, it is not immediately noticeable when worn. The "S" and front of the piece is in good condition.
