14K Victorian Domed Amethyst & Diamond Star Pendant

An exceptional Victorian c.1890 amethyst in a domed shape with a star set with a rose cut diamond in the center. It is crafted in 14k gold.

It is in great condition, with the prong settings featuring finely pierced gold work, in the shape of "crowns" or "fleur de lis" metalwork and it looks wonderful when viewed from the side profile. There is no damage to the amethyst.

The amethyst dome measures 16mm across, and the pendant measures 23mm across without bail.

It was a Victorian brooch that was converted into a pendant. The bail is not soldered closed.

The domed amethyst had a pearl in the center, that we have changed to a rose cut diamond.
