15K French Victorian Ruby & Pearl Snake Crescent Necklace
A French Napoleon III circa 1870-1880 snake crescent with intricate Etruscan granulated beading around to mimic scales, intertwined with a crescent and starburst stars set with alternating rubies and rose cut diamonds.
The snake’s head is also set with a ruby. The back is a small little watch hook which can suspend additional charms or pendants.
Modelled in 15k (15ct), and it retains its original “bloomed gold” finish, which is a buttery yellow gold matte finish, and hanging on a 18k gold chain with 16/18” lengths. There is an old solder mark on the inner side profile of one side of the crescent, but it is not visible when worn.
Note: To retain the semi-matte finish of bloomed gold pieces, we recommend not to polish the piece. If you really have to, for example, remove a darkened tarnish mark, please ensure to only use a jewellery polish cloth, and with very light handed motions and only very sparingly.
