18K French Victorian Citrine Intaglio Monogram LP/PL Pendant
A wonderful Victorian c.1890-1900 citrine intaglio monogram "LP/PL" pendant, modelled in 18k gold and hallmarked.
The intaglio is a carved oval-faceted citrine approx. 42.65ct, with the monogram "LP" or "PL", and was used as a wax seal stamp for important documents. It's size is fairly large, making it a very unique and gorgeous piece.
The colour of the citrine is a gorgeous deep yellow that glows beautifully and radiantly. The reverse of the citrine is faceted, and it is in stunning condition. The setting is bold and strong with prongs that hold the intaglio securely, that is quite a fair amount of solid gold used in the setting - making it a quality piece. It is hallmarked with the French eagle head for 18k gold on the back of the bail, as well as a maker's mark on the side of the frame of the pendant.
It measures 25mm x 45mm with bail, 25mm x 35mm without bail, and weighs 16.86 grams.
Note: Any marks seen are dust particles from the photography, the piece is in excellent condition.
