18K French Victorian Diamond & Sapphire Floral Insect Bug Horseshoe Brooch
A charming and unique French Victorian c.1890-1900 horseshoe brooch with the loveliest golden patina, modelled in 18k gold and hallmarked.
There are floral engravings on one side of the horseshoe, and a cute insect bug on the other side, set with twinkling rose cut diamonds approx. 0.03ct by spread, and a sapphire 0.10ct. on the bug's body, with a total weight of 0.13ctw.
The brooch is hallmarked with the French eagle head for 18k gold on the brooch pin and catch. It opens and closes well and is in remarkable condition and quality.
This is a wonderful piece of history with exquisite craftsmanship that would be an excellent addition to any antique jewellery lover's collection!
