18K French Victorian Filigree Diamond Initial M Locket
A beautiful French Victorian initial "M" locket c.1870-1880, modelled in 18k gold.
It is such a wonderful locket, with the front of the locket featuring exquisite filigree detailing around the frame resembling French lace, with the middle initial "M" set with glistening rose cut diamonds approx. 0.20ctw by spread.
The inside of the locket features a glass door, typical of French Napoleon III lockets from the era. It opens and closes well. It is hallmarked, although the hallmark has slightly rubbed off over the course of time.
The front of the locket is in great stunning condition. The reverse of the locket is smooth and has a very tiny surface ant bite ding to it, this is very minimal and cannot be seen when worn, as it is on the reverse side of the locket. Please see the 360 degree video in the gallery.
We have replaced the pearls with sparkly rose cut diamonds that has truly enhanced the look of the locket.
It measures 22mm x 37mm with bail, 22mm x 27mm without bail, and weighs 9.24 grams.
