18K French Victorian Onyx & Diamond Initial M Locket

A gorgeous French Victorian c.1870-1880 onyx and diamond initial 'M' locket, modelled in 18k gold and hallmarked.

The locket is beautifully crafted in onyx in a gold frame, and the front of the locket has gorgeous and intricate rope detailing around the border of the onyx which adds a layer of dimension to the piece.

It features an initial 'M' set with glistening rose cut diamonds approx. 0.35ctw by spread.

The interior of the locket opens up and reveals its original glass door in the middle. It opens and closes well.

It is hallmarked with the French eagle head hallmark for 18k gold on the interior gold rim on the right side of the locket.

This locket is offered in excellent condition with no cracks or wear to the onyx.

We have replaced the pearls with sparkly rose cut diamonds that has truly enhanced the look of the locket.

It measures 21.6mm x 34.6mm with bail, 21.6mm x 26.4mm without bail, and 8.62 weighs grams.
