18K French Victorian Regional Boulogne-Sur-Mer Cannetille Filigree Cross Pendant
An amazing antique regional French Victorian c.1840-1850 traditional large cross pendant, crafted in 18k gold and hallmarked.
It is made of fine cannetille filigree detailing on the border of the cross, and the cross comes from the Boulogne-sur-Mer region. There are stars on each end of the cross which represents seashells, a design homage to the city as it was a major fishing port on the North coast of France.
This cross is in excellent condition and is very highly detailed, and is entirely hand-crafted; A true testament to antique French craftsmanship. It is hallmarked with the French eagle head hallmark for 18k gold.
It measures 40.3mm x 61.8mm with bail, 40.3mm x 54.3mm without bail and weighs 5.25 grams.
