18K French Victorian Ruby & Pearl Cross Onyx Brooch

A beautiful French Victorian c.1860-1880 onyx brooch, modelled in 18k gold.

The brooch is a lovely circular shape, set with a rubies and pearls in a cross. The style of cross is called the "Bottony" cross, which is a cross with a trefoil on each end.

The rubies are approx. 0.40ctw. The back and pin is entirely in 18k gold and hallmarked with the French eagle head for 18k gold.

It is a wonderful brooch that would be great to use as a scarf or blazer pin, and is versatile from day to night. It is in great condition with very light surface wear commensurate with its age.

It measures 28mm x 28mm height, weighs 11.82 grams.
