18K & Platinum French Victorian Diamond & Citrine Flaming Heart Ring

An exquisite French Victorian c.1900 flaming heart ring, modelled in 18k gold and platinum.

The design is called a “flaming heart”, with flames seen atop a heart, representing a love burning with passion. It is an absolute stunner with a great ring coverage, it is uncommon to see a heart ring of this size!

This particular ring is an amazing example, set with a pear cut citrine approx. 4.65ct, with a halo of rose cut diamonds approx. 0.70ct by spread, with a total weight of 5.35ctw.

It is an all original ring and not a conversion, and features a gorgeous pierced gallery side profile and open-backed gem settings.

The ring face measures 16mm x 25mm height.

It is a US 5.5 and sizable, and weighs 6.17 grams.

It has the French eagle head hallmark (18k gold) stamped on the outer shank of the ring.

Note: The ring came to us with 3 holes filled in with putty to fill in the gaps where there were missing diamonds. We assume that the original owner was unable to find suitable diamond replacements as well as these are really old diamond cuts with flatter facets as compared to the modern rose cut diamond. It took us a while of sourcing, but we found 3 perfect antique replacements for the missing diamonds. Other than the 3 antique diamond replacements, the ring is in excellent condition and the ring can now be proudly worn and shown off in its true beauty for generations to come.
