18K & Silver European Victorian Diamond Floral Cluster Ring

An incredible European Victorian c.1840-1850 pinched collet set diamond cluster ring crafted in 18k gold and silver, hallmarked.

It features a stunning large pinched collet, old mine cut diamond approx. 1.45ct, K/L in colour and VS clarity. It is surrounded by gorgeous alternating tulips and flower buds with further diamonds approx. 0.76ct by spread. Such deliberate care was taken by its original maker to choose the stones for the designs, as the tulip flowers has rose cut diamonds, and the flower buds has old mine cut diamonds - all perfectly complementing to further bring out the beauty of the center diamond.

The ring is a very unique and rare cluster ring design, as most clusters do not have flowers decorated around the center stone, which makes this ring all the more special! The old mine diamonds are also open-backed to allow more light to pass through for a brilliant sparkle.

It is hallmarked 750 for 18k gold on the inner gold band, as well as a maker's mark stamp beside it. It is European in origin and sourced from the Netherlands. The ring is an all original ring (and not a conversion ring) with original components and diamonds.

The ring face measures 14.6mm x 15.9mm height.

It is a US 5.5 and sizable, and weighs 4.80 grams.

Note: A "K/L" colour on a diamond over 1ct would be considered a good colour grade, as diamonds mined during this time period seldom yielded high white/colourless diamonds in larger diamond sizes. Majority of these were warmer in colour such as M-N and lower colour grades on larger diamonds.
