18K & Silver Georgian Diamond Initial J Pendant

A rare initial "J" pendant from the Georgian era, circa 1790. This pendant is an all original, consisting of original settings, stones, with no modifications at all. It is crafted in silver and 18k gold, with it's original diamond bail.

The bail suspends a flower cluster, which then suspends the initial "J" pendant. We know that they are all components original to each other, as the back retains the most beautiful and detailed engravings of foliate and floral work, predominantly featuring a large singular rose in the middle at the back. This engraving work extends up to the floral cluster dangle as well, and even to the back of the bail! The back of the bail is usually not engraved as it is seen to be such a small component. In this piece however, we can clearly see that in this piece, no surface is too small to be engraved, and no detail is spared from making a complete perfection.

The setting is done with the coveted cut-down and pinched collet settings, and the rose cut diamonds are foiled, approx. 1.30ctw.

Given that antique initial "J" pendants are rare and hard to come by, and additionally with it being an antique Georgian piece with all original components and stones that is in great condition for its age, makes this piece a highly valuable and collectible item.

Note: Please note that as the diamonds are foiled, it is advisable that the piece does not get wet or exposed to water. It can be gently cleaned by wiping it down with a wrung out damp cloth.
