18K & Silver Georgian Diamond Red Enamel Monogram LP/PL Ring
A stunning Georgian c.1800-1830 ring with the initials "LP" or "PL", set with tiny rose cut diamonds. It is in a red enamel frame, surrounded by a halo of larger rose cut diamonds. The sides of the shank feature fancy fleur de lys shoulders.
It is an excellent example of initial rings from the Georgian era, and it is always rare to come across rings that are set with tiny rose cut diamonds, as most are set with tiny seed pearls or plain gold or silver cut-outs. Additionally, the red enamel is a rarity amongst the blue enamel rings of the period.
The ring face measures 18mm x 20mm. There are approximately 2.00ctw of rose cut diamonds by spread.
It is currently a US 6 and sizable.
The ring is an all original with no modifications, nor any replacement stones - all original stones are present.
