18K & Silver German Victorian Diamond Floral Crescent Brooch

A lovely German Victorian c.1890-1900 crescent brooch, modelled in 18k gold and silver.

The crescent is set with rose cut diamonds in a fancy fleur de lis pattern in the form of a crescent, paired with a lovely flower with leaves in the middle. There are approx. 0.90ctw of diamonds by spread.

It is such a unique design, also known as the 'Honeymoon' brooch. The flower representing the 'honey' with its nectar, and the crescent for the 'moon'. As its name denotes, it would have traditionally been given from a groom to his bride as a betrothal gift during engagement.

It is hallmarked '750' on the brooch pin for 18k gold, and the brooch pin opens and closes well. It is sourced from Germany and is German in origin. This would be a wonderful and special addition to any crescent lovers collection.

The crescent measures 34.6mm across, and weighs 8.56 grams.
