18K Victorian Diamond & Garnet Oversized Horseshoe Pendant

An oversized Victorian c.1890 horseshoe pendant, modelled in 18k gold, and set with rose cut diamonds and garnets.

It weighs a hefty 10.6 grams, and is an oversized pendant measuring 30.5mm x 37mm height without bail.

The diamonds are approx. 0.60ct by spread, and the garnets are 0.75ct. Total weight: 1.35ctw.

Horseshoe - A Lucky Symbol
In the Victorian era symbolism, horseshoes were seen as lucky symbols, to bring to it's wearer good fortune, well wishes, and protection to ward off evil spirits. Additionally, the 7 points on the horseshoe is also seen as a lucky number "7" symbol.

It was a brooch and has been beautifully converted into a wearable pendant.
