18K Victorian Diamond & Opal Crescent Pendant

A stunning Victorian c.1880-1890 opal and diamond crescent pendant, modelled in 18k gold.

It is set with Australian solid crystal opals, which are slightly translucent that allows light to pass through. This creates a gorgeous play of colour in the opals which resembles the beautiful light auroras of a night sky.

There are approx. 2.35ct opals, 0.30ct diamonds by spread, with a total weight of 2.65ctw.

The beautiful crescent was a brooch that has been masterfully converted into a wearable pendant. This is a highly collectible piece as opal crescents are always highly sought after by crescent lovers and collectors, and it is in great condition.

It measures 36mm across without bail, and weighs 4.55 grams.

Note: Any dark marks seen in the diamonds are reflections from the dark background, as they are open-backed and hence appear black. The diamonds are clear and bright.
