18K Victorian Garnet & Pearl Renaissance Portrait Pendant

An exquisite Victorian c.1850-1860 portrait pendant, crafted in 18k gold and set with alternating pearls and garnets.

It features a portrait of a Renaissance lady which was a popular topic of interest in the Victorian era.

The frame of the piece is beautifully decorated with rope details and detailed engravings. The portrait itself is very well painted with a high level of detail. The back of the piece is backed with mother of pearl.

There are alternative garnets approx. 0.35ctw, and pearls in the frame, with hand etched engraving details, truly adding to the depth of the piece. It is a wonderful piece of history that would be an amazing addition to any antique jewellery lover's collection.

It measures 44mm x 50mm height, and weighs 9.69 grams.
