9K & Silver Victorian Diamond & Ruby Crescent Brooch-Necklace with Detachable Chain 18"

An exquisite one-of-a-kind and rare, super large elongated diamond & ruby crescent brooch-necklace, modelled in 9k gold and silver.

It is set with glittering rose cut diamonds approx. 1.50ct by spread, with a center row pink rubies 4.00ct, with a total weight of 5.50ctw.

This is absolutely one of our favourite finds ever! The crescent measures a magnificent 90mm across, which certainly makes for a showstopping presence.

The stunning crescent is a brooch and the brooch fittings of the crescent is wonderfully tucked in the recesses behind the crescent and does not protrude out, making it a fantastic candidate for a two-in-one brooch to necklace piece where it would be comfortable to wear as a necklace too.

An antique 9k gold antique Victorian chain from the same period c.1890-1900 was specially sourced, and two spring ring clasps has been added on the ends of the chain so that it can be attached or detached from the crescent - to be worn as either a brooch or necklace. Please see the picture gallery for examples of it worn as a necklace.

The necklace including the crescent is 21.5" in length, and the chain not including the crescent is 18" in length.

The listing includes the crescent brooch as well as the detachable chain.

It weighs 23.73 grams.

• When worn as a necklace, it can be worn two ways - North to South direction, or East to West direction. (See picture gallery for modelling picture of the two ways)
• When worn as a brooch, it can be pinned onto coat, scarf, clothing or even in a hairdo for a fabulous effect.

This makes it a truly versatile and enviable piece to add to any antique crescent enthusiast's collection! It is extremely rare to come across an antique crescent of this size, and it is offered in excellent condition.
