Silver Georgian Diamond & Ruby Wheat Sheaf Bow Pendant
A very rare Georgian, c.1790-c.1830 sentimental bow pendant set with rose cut diamonds and a foiled ruby in pinch collect settings. The drop pendant has a forward/backward early hinged “swivel” system, that allows the pendant to dangle and rock back and forth.
What is impressive is that the wheat sheaf, more commonly seen in hair, is made with tiny diamonds, encased beneath a glass panel which is sealed, and cannot be opened.
A truly exceptional piece, we have never come across anything like it.
It measures 60 x 30mm.
Note: Please note that as the diamonds/ruby are foiled, it is advisable that the piece does not get wet or exposed to water. It can be gently cleaned by wiping it down with a wrung out damp cloth.
