14K Georgian/Victorian Diamond & Ruby Enamel Bird Necklace
An exquisite and very rare late Georgian to Victorian c.1820-1850 enamel diamond bird, crafted in 14k gold.
The bird is highly detailed with chunky rose cut diamonds approx. 2.47ctw by spread. The diamonds are bright and clear and sparkly intensely.
The wing edges are detailed with green guillcoche enamel, the tail and head with red guilloche enamel, and the feathers with a black enamel. To top it off, there is a round cabochon ruby in the bird's eye 0.10ct.
This is a highly detailed piece of antique jewellery that brilliantly shows of the antique craftsmanship of the earlier periods. It is in stunning and great condition.
The bird measures 44mm x 20mm height, and weighs 13.95 grams as a necklace with chain.
Custom Project
This piece is a custom project where it will be transformed from a brooch into a necklace with a specially sourced 20" antique chain, with a 18" to 20" adjustable setting. The chain will be soldered onto each side of the wing of the bird.
